The Ipswich CBD links the best of the city's architectural past with a dynamic and exciting future.  A stroll along Bell Street from the Ipswich Train Station towards Brisbane Street will take you past the historic Caledonian Hotel . At the corner of Bell and Brisbane Streets the diversity of the Ipswich CBD experience will become apparent with a range of retail and service outlets including Limelight fashion boutique.  The historic Post Office building has morphed into Tower Central while maintaining the heritage facade.  Adjacent to this exciting development is the old Town Hall that is now part of the Ipswich Art Gallery complex.

d'Arcy Doyle Place named after Ipswich's renowned artist of the last century, forms the focal point for diners and art lovers alike.  Mehfils Indian Restaurant has transformed the heritage listed Australasian Bank Building, and just a short wander along the pathway and grassed area brings visitors the the Ipswich Art Gallery.  This inspiring regional arts space includes a social history focus and is one of the most visited in Australia. 

The Ipswich City Mall sits beside d'Arcy Doyle Place and has all the essentials.  Woolworths, Crimson Cow, Best and Less and Lowes join local boutiques Trottie Becke, Cafe Steam Expresso Bar, Brad Kearton Jwellers, hairdressers, newsagents, chemists and banking facilities including ATMs. There is also access to many of the key government services for individual and businesses.

Top of Town is rapidly becoming 'the' place for lovers of great coffee, op shopping, gifts and homewares, antiques, funky kitchen gadgets and unique fashion statements.  Visit Gallery Newtown laden with fabulous gift ideas, and Val Haala - the trendiest boutique in town.  New fashion stores now open are Mixed Spice on Brisbane, Petite to Plus, and Pimp my Closet.

Cactus Espresso Bar not only provides fabulous coffee and food but the walls of the cafe are also a gallery space for local artists.  Along Brisbane Street you will find Vintage Advantage (everything you could ever want collectable), Deann's Coffee House (delicious homemade meals and high teas), Province Modern Country (vintage and classic styled home furnishings) and Art Time housing the recently opened "Book Nook" and the Lasting Impressions Art Gallery that features exhibitions by local artists.

The Old Flour Mill, a lovely old building designed by George Brockwell Gill, hosts a whole range of diverse businesses, including Inkuku, Handmade Heaven, Sweet As, Endless Jewells, Di...licious, Viva Italia Restaurant, Ace Massage, and Yesterday's Collectables. 

On the banks of the Bremer River you'll discover River Heart Parklands.  Designed to reclaim the river for the people, the parklands are a stunning mix of native plantings, pathways, reflection points and river views.  The Parkland is also the venue for Energex River Sessions - a program of jazz and soft popular music held monthly on Sunday afternoons.

On the northern bank of the river you will find Riverlink Shopping Centre, the latest addition to Ipswich Central's retail hub and boasting major chains such as Target and Big W along with supermarkets and smaller boutique style retailers.

Op Shops:  Ipswich Central is home to many charity shops, op shops and preloved stores. If you want to bag a bargain, collect preloved wears or love the retro look, Ipswich Central is one location with many shops to spend a day searching through.
